Registered Nurse - Intensive Care Unit

About this role
We're excited to welcome a Registered Nurse to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital (SCUH) is currently operating at up to 14 beds. There is further capacity for the ICU to expand when fully commissioned. The ICU provides specialist care for trauma, medical and surgical specialities for the SCHHS, with other services planned for the near future. The unit strives to offer a culture of education, learning and support within the multi-disciplinary team. The Registered Nurse reports to the Nurse Unit Manager.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Demonstrates evidence of increasing autonomy and exercises greater levels of professional judgement in the clinical environment as the employee moves from a beginning to an experienced practitioner
- Understand your broad responsibilities for safety and quality in healthcare, actively participate in continuous quality and safety improvement activities within the workplace and notify a relevant clinical or non-clinical responsible officer when concerns exist about workplace or patient safety.
- Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces and manage all information in accordance with legislation, standards, policies, and procedures.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with individuals, peers and the healthcare team to achieve goals and health outcomes.
Salary rates: $44.06 - $56.51 p.h., employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (Nurse Grade 5) (Fixed term temporary part time position available for three months, hours negotioable).
