Clinical Coder

Metro North Health is seeking a Clinical Coder to join the Health Information Service at Caboolture Hospital. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the accuracy and quality of clinical data that supports patient care, funding, planning and reporting across our hospitals.

You'll work closely with experienced coders and health information professionals in a supportive, collaborative team environment.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Clinical coding – abstract and verify relevant information in the clinical record; assign accurate ICD-10-AM codes and perform DRG grouping according to the Australian Coding Standards, State Coding Authority and legislative guidelines within designated timeframes at Caboolture and Kilcoy Hospitals and Bribie Island Satellite Hospital.
- May assist the Senior Health Information Manager with the end of month data extraction for Caboolture and Kilcoy Inpatient data.
- As part of the coding process, complete Queensland Cancer Registry notifications and collect/flag clinical indicator and audit data.
