We are seeking an enthusiastic Rural Generalist to join our team in tropical North Queensland. Innisfail Hospital is a 49 bed acute care hospital including 3 high dependency beds, staffed by Rural Generalists. We have a busy Emergency Department seeing 20k pxs per year. We have excellent critical care equipment and medical imaging capacity allowing advanced diagnostic and treatment capacity. Our inpatient unit has a 3 bed High Dependency allowing limited critical care capacity locally. Our Obstetric SMOs work with MGP midwives delivering > 200 babies per year with a LCSC rate of 25%. A collaborative environment exists with weekly multidisciplinary antenatal case conference and monthly multidisciplinary instrumental birth case review. Apply Now!

Purpose of the Role
Working at the Innisfail Hospital within rural health services across the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service, you will contribute as a dynamic Senior Medical Officer with advanced skills in Obstetrics, providing high quality clinical care to hospital in-patients and patients at rural clinics. You will assist the Director of Medical Services, Innisfail Hospital in the development of safe medical practice and optimising clinical skills for medical and nursing staff.
