About us:
The Adult Acute Mental Health Inpatient Service is a 53-bed facility showcasing a modern and culturally sensitive design. This unit is a family friendly environment that incorporates the latest technological advancements, with therapeutic spaces, including a dedicated patient gym, sensory modulation rooms and OT Kitchens. At the Adult Acute Mental Health Inpatient Service we provide high quality specialist psychology services for consumers of the Adult Acute Mental Health Inpatient Service
The outer western region of our service includes extremely remote communities. Cairns Hospital is the only major referral hospital in Far North Queensland and also provides care for people from Cape York and the Torres Strait.
Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service covers an area of 142,900 square kilometres. We go as far as Tully in the south, Cow Bay in the north and Croydon in the west.
About your role:
- Take a lead role in providing psychological therapeutic programs and groups for Adult Acute Mental Health Inpatient consumers.
- Contribute to the development of practices, procedures and protocols relating to mental health and Psychology.
- Provide general clinical advice to professional and operational supervisors, relevant service managers and other stakeholders regarding service delivery.
