Cairns Hospital is seeking a highly experienced specialist clinician to take on the inaugural role of Clinical Director – Trauma Service, providing strategic, clinical and operational leadership in establishing a new multidisciplinary regional Trauma Service.About this role

Cairns Hospital manages a growing volume of complex trauma patients from across the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service and the Torres and Cape Hospital and Health Service. With planned capital expansion underway, this role will lead the development and implementation of a Level 3 accredited Trauma Service, delivering coordinated, high‑quality trauma care across a vast geographic region.
About your new role:
In your new role you will……
- Provide senior trauma expertise and clinical leadership across Emergency, Surgery, Orthopaedics, Anaesthetics, ICU, Rehabilitation and Medicine.
- Lead the design and implementation of an integrated, multidisciplinary Trauma Service.
- Drive quality, safety, audit, research and education activity across the trauma continuum and Support trauma care delivery for rural and remote communities across Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service and the Torres and Cape Hospital and Health Service.
