About us:
The Innisfail Operating Theatre/Endoscopy Unit comprises two operating theatres and five recovery beds. The unit provides surgical services two days per week (CSCF Level 3) and endoscopy services three days per week (CSCF Level 4). Surgical services include on‑site general, obstetric and oral health surgery, with outreach general, vascular and gynaecological surgical services. Endoscopy services include gastroscopy, colonoscopy, flexible sigmoidoscopy and participation in the National Bowel Cancer Screening Program (NBSP).
About your role:
- Assist the Nurse Unit Manager to implement and monitor the quality standards, work health and safety policies, procedures and programs and provide clinical governance in the relevant work area.
- Provide effective and efficient clinical care in the area of clinical specialty and work in collaboration with the Nurse Unit Manager to ensure the maintenance of safe standards in patient care.
- Effectively communicate at all levels across the organisation to promote effective team functioning.
- Undertake quality improvement and evidence-based practice activities to ensure the provision of quality, cost-effective patient care, including management of portfolio.
- Participate in Operating Theatre on call system.
