The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Services are seeking a Cultural Educator to join them. In this role you will be responsible for managing and delivering cultural responsiveness educational programs. You will be able to share cultural education knowledge and skills whilst providing high quality evidence-based reports to management teams.About this role

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Unit actively promotes an inclusive and positive work environment that reflects the values of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community we represent.
The outer western region of our service includes extremely remote communities. Cairns Hospital is the only major referral hospital in Far North Queensland and also provides care for people from Cape York and the Torres Strait.

About your opportunity:
- Liaise with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Consultative Committee and First Peoples Health Equity Council to co-design and endorse CHHHS culturally responsive educational content that is representative of the healthcare needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients, families, and carers.
- Manage, deliver, and coordinate the facilitation of CHHHS mandatory Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Practice Program training, including regular review and updating of the suite of program resources based on priority health need indicators of the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service.
- Utilising a combination of program and training evaluation, patient experience measures, patient feedback, and Health Equity performance measures to inform ongoing organisational cultural responsiveness program content development.
