About us:
The outer western region of our service includes extremely remote communities. Cairns Hospital is the only major referral hospital in Far North Queensland and also provides care for people from Cape York and the Torres Strait.
We're committed to improving the health and wellbeing of people in Far North Queensland by providing high quality acute health care services.
About your opportunity:
- Active collaboration with the Cassowary Area Community Health team to initiate, develop, implement and evaluate quality improvement activities and change management practices to enhance service delivery.
- Provide clinical practice and professional supervision, including competency training and skill development to less experienced Occupational Therapists, Allied Health Assistants, support staff and undergraduate or work experience students.
- Apply cultural safe practice to effectively liaise and support clients/carers (including First Nation Peoples and those from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds), in line with self-management principles and evidence-based guidelines.
