Staff Specialist - Palliative Care Medicine

About the role

Provide high quality, cost efficient and effective clinical and non-clinical services to directly or indirectly benefit the patients/clients

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

• Provide clinical Palliative Medicine/Palliative Care to community-based patients.
• Provide specialist clinical services to community patients in ambulatory clinics as indicated under service developments.
• Optimise clinical handover and documentation.
• Attend and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences, providing expert advice related to the management of and support to patients requiring palliative care.
• Liaise with all disciplines of staff involved in the patient's care and clinical management to optimise timely therapeutic interventions, discharge planning and end of life support.
• Provide clinical supervision to allocated advanced trainees, basic trainees or prevocational junior doctors working within CPCU and SPACE
