Clinical Assistant
Be part of a high-volume specimen reception team supporting diagnostic services in a major hospital environment. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in ensuring accurate and timely processing of samples that underpin patient diagnosis and care.
About this role
The purpose of this role is to provide operational support within Central Specimen Reception, ensuring accurate identification, registration and preparation of specimens to support efficient laboratory testing and diagnostic services.
What you'll do
In this role you will receive and register specimens, perform sample identification and preparation, manage data entry using laboratory systems, support specimen dispatch, maintain clean and safe work areas, contribute to quality and accreditation processes, and work across a continuous shift roster to support 24/7 laboratory operations.

- Has experience or ability to perform specimen handling and data entry tasks
- Has strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Has strong communication and teamwork skills
- Can prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- Is flexible to work across a 24/7 roster including nights and weekends
