Pathology Assistant Microbiology
Build your career in microbiology within a busy hospital laboratory supporting diagnostic and public health services. In this role, you’ll contribute to the preparation and processing of specimens that support timely diagnosis and patient care across North Queensland.
About this role
The purpose of this role is to provide laboratory support services within microbiology, including specimen preparation, processing and data entry, ensuring accurate and efficient delivery of diagnostic testing services.
What you'll do
In this role you will prepare and process specimens for microbiology, serology and molecular testing, perform data entry and specimen registration, support laboratory workflows and prioritisation, assist with quality control and compliance activities, contribute to team operations across departments, and support efficient and accurate laboratory service delivery.
About you
We are searching for someone who:
- Has experience or ability to perform laboratory support duties
- Has strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Can work autonomously and manage competing priorities
- Has strong communication and teamwork skills
- Has basic computer and data entry skills
- Has interest or experience in microbiology (desirable)
