Staff Specialist / Senior Staff Specialist - Anatomical Pathology
Join a dynamic and highly respected Anatomical Pathology team as a Staff Specialist and play a pivotal role in delivering expert diagnostic pathology services that directly support patient care across the health service. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to contribute to high-quality clinical outcomes through the examination and interpretation of surgical, cytological and autopsy specimens, while working collaboratively with multidisciplinary clinical teams. This position offers an attractive remuneration package including standard Motor Vehicle Allowance, Professional Development Allowance and a Retention and Attraction Allowance of 50% of base salary. Salary packaging options are also available to help maximise your take-home income.

Key competencies (role specific criteria)
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated contemporary knowledge, skills and ability in Anatomical Pathology, participate in the local and remote frozen section service, perform on site and remote MDTs, be able to participate in the after-hours on call roster, and a high level of professionalism required in the position, especially objectivity.
- Demonstrated high level interpersonal and communication skills necessary for all aspects of the position.
- Demonstrated skills, knowledge and abilities necessary to conduct relevant training, teaching, research, investigation, analysis and managemen
- Knowledge of the ISO 15189 and NATA Medical Testing Requirements demonstrating continued accreditation in your clinical specialty for all laboratories across a diverse network.
Qualifications, registrations and other requirements
- Mandatory requirements are a medical qualification and tertiary qualification in Anatomical Pathology (FRCPA, or equivalent) and be registerable with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) as a Specialist Pathologist.
- Registrars finishing training in 2026 are encouraged to apply
- The incumbents must be Fellows of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia or equivalent.
