What your day could look like
As a Clinical Midwifery Consultant, you'll help shape exceptional maternity care for women, babies and families across the region. Working alongside a talented multidisciplinary team, you'll provide expert leadership, support continuous improvement and influence positive outcomes across maternity services.
Every day, you'll contribute by:
- Leading safe, contemporary maternity care that delivers positive experiences and outcomes.
- Partnering with clinicians and leaders to strengthen collaboration and service delivery.
- Driving quality improvement and clinical governance initiatives that enhance care.
- Coaching and mentoring midwives to build capability, confidence and future leadership.

You're an experienced midwifery leader who combines clinical expertise with compassion and sound judgement. You bring people together, influence positive change and remain focused on achieving the best outcomes for women and families. You'll find satisfaction in developing others, improving services and creating a positive impact that extends beyond individual episodes of care.
Here's what will help you thrive in this role:
- Current registration, or eligibility for registration, as a Registered Midwife.
- Advanced experience in maternity care and clinical leadership.
- Strong knowledge of quality improvement, clinical governance and evidence-based practice.
- Excellent communication, collaboration and change leadership skills.
You'll stand out from the crowd if you have:
- Postgraduate qualifications in Midwifery, Health Management or a related field.
- Experience leading service improvement or innovation within maternity services.
Above all, you'll bring compassion, integrity, dignity, innovation and courage while helping deliver outstanding maternity care.
