Principal Business Analyst - Capability Support
eHealth Queensland is seeking a dedicated and experienced Principal Business Analyst to join the Capability Support Team within the Delivery Services Branch. This role plays a key part in strengthening Business Analysis capability across the branch, providing specialist advice and facilitated support to complex initiatives while contributing to the development of frameworks, practitioner guidance, and the Business Analysis Community of Practice.
About this role
The role:
Reporting to the Practice Manager, Business Analysis, this role sits within the Capability Support Team, which guides and enables practitioners across the Business Analysis, ICT Testing, Project Delivery and Project Support practices within the Delivery Services Branch. This is not a traditional project delivery role. Instead, the position focuses on providing facilitated support to complex initiatives while strengthening Business Analysis practice and practitioner capability across the branch. Working closely with the Practice Manager, the role plays a key part in delivering facilitated support and capability uplift through:
- Provide specialist advice and facilitated support to complex ICT initiatives, enabling the effective application of Business Analysis practices in high-risk or high-impact environments.
- Partner with delivery teams to diagnose challenges, readiness, impacts and user needs, translating insight into proportionate approaches that support successful delivery and improve the employee experience of transformational change across the branch.
- Provide early, targeted intervention to address delivery risks, capability gaps, or project friction across initiatives.
- Collaborate with a variety of stakeholders to support the implementation and continuous improvement of the Business Analysis competency framework and self-assessment tool, ensuring alignment with best practices and industry standards.
- Contribute to the development, enhancement, and standardisation of Business Analysis frameworks, process guides, and templates, improving consistency and quality across the Delivery Services Branch.
- Support the growth of the Delivery Services Branch Communities of Practice and associated SharePoint sites, fostering capability uplift and a consistent approach to Business Analysis practices.
- Provide mentorship and coaching to members of the Business Analysis Community of Practice, supporting career growth and capability development.

- Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes and embed consistent practice across complex, multi-stakeholder environments without direct authority.
- Ability to facilitate learning and development programs for practitioners, which include knowledge-sharing sessions and other professional development initiatives.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and levels of leadership.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to support quality assurance and continuous improvement in Business Analysis processes.
- A passion for driving Business Analysis capability and supporting business transformation within a complex organisation.
