Project Officer
Provide support of program/project activities, including reporting and governance functions, to enable the successful delivery of large scale, complex Information Management (IM) and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) work packages.
About this role
Temporary opportunity for a Project Officer in the Infrastructure Maintenance Program of Digital Health and Business Solutions within the Delivery Services Branch for up to 12 months.
The role:
The role of a Project Officer is to support the delivery of various projects by monitoring, reporting, coordinating and providing governance functions on work package activities against agreed criteria.
Key responsibilities include:
- Follow defined service quality standards, occupational health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken to ensure high quality, safe, services and workplaces.
- Promote and ensure the use of appropriate project management techniques, methodologies, and tools, including benefits realisation and risk and issue management in line with Queensland Health's project management methodologies to ensure quality project outcomes are delivered.
- Plan, coordinate, monitor and report on project related trends and work package performance against set criteria.
- Monitor resources and expenditure within the agreed work package budgets and project forecasts.
- Establish and maintain procedures relating to project procurement processes.
- Undertake risk and issues identification, assessment and mitigation activities by ensuring risks and issues are documented, reviewed and escalated as appropriate.
- Initiate, influence and maintain relationships with and between internal and external stakeholders.
- Facilitate effective communications and foster relationships through lessons learned, feedback mechanisms and management of expectations.
Is this opportunity for you?
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience in an IM/ICT project environment, including planning, risk management, reporting, budgeting and coordinating the delivery of work packages.
- Knowledge and application of appropriate project management methodologies (preferably PRINCE2), and an ability to provide sound advice and recommendations on the use of appropriate project management techniques, methodologies and tools.
- Demonstrated ability to provide sound advice and recommendations on the appropriate use of project and/or change management techniques.
- Proven effective consultation, facilitation, written and oral communication skills for use in a complex program/project environment.
- Demonstrated analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills and a proven ability to work in a team environment developing effective working relationships with team members.
