Project Director - Cyber Security
Exciting opportunity to lead the development of critical and strategic security initiatives within a Cyber Security program of works for the largest technology provider in Queensland. This is a fixed-term temporary role located in Fortitude Valley.
About this role
The role:
Reporting to the Program Director, we are looking for a skilled Project Director that will share our vision of delivering critical cyber programs successfully in a way which inspires confidence, enhances transparency and empowers teams.
The Cyber Security Program (CSP) and its projects are implementing improvement initiatives identified in the Cyber Security Strategy and Roadmap, including upgrading ageing technology, improving existing systems and implementing updated security capabilities. The program considers the emergent and always changing health landscape and cyber security threat environment to drive the security uplift and posture for the organisation. This is a pivotal leadership role in the Cyber Security Program, responsible for overseeing the successful execution and delivery of multiple critical planning or implementation initiatives by ensuring they are completed successfully within agreed performance criteria.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Oversee the successful delivery of multiple complex Cyber Security planning projects to ensure outcomes are achieved for the initiatives.
- Provide high-level strategic insight, financial acumen, and cross-functional authority required to verify, justify, and structure complex investment cases.
- Ensure the initiatives are thoroughly evaluated and analysed to inform the development of key planning artefacts including current state, future state requirements, preliminary operating models and Detailed Business Cases.
- Provide expert advice and strategic input into the development of project deliverables to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Ensure projects are managed in accordance with best practice guidelines and Queensland Health's formal project management (PM) approach and methodologies.

You will be recognised for your ability to provide strategic leadership, build high-performing teams, and deliver outcomes in complex and evolving organisational settings.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate skills and experience across the following:
- Demonstrated excellence in program management with the proven ability to manage teams and stakeholders effectively to achieve successful project outcomes.
- Skilled in high level leadership, conceptualisation and design of programs comprising of multiple large scale, complex and high-risk Cyber Security projects.
- Experience managing conflicting priorities across various stakeholders whilst delivering and tracking to agreed budgets and project plans.
- Proven skills in putting together strategies, frameworks and plans to enable informed decision making on project issues.
The following experience will be highly regarded:
- Demonstrated experience leading cyber security, technology transformation, or enterprise risk remediation programs within large and complex organisations.
- Knowledge of contemporary cyber security principles, security governance frameworks, risk management practices, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Experience delivering projects focused on cyber resilience, vulnerability management, endpoint security, Zero Trust, Mobile Device Management, infrastructure security, or broader security uplift initiatives.
