About this role
The Role
An opportunity has become available for several Social Workers to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 13 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Deliver social work services to patients and families to a designated service/ inpatient unit
- Undertake comprehensive discharge planning and implement interventions
- Utilise knowledge and understanding of the biopsychosocial framework of practice in a hospital setting
- As experience builds, routinely apply increasingly independent clinical judgement to more complex clinical decision making
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Tertiary degree in Social Work
- Eligibility for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Blue Card/Working with children check (GCH will cover cost)
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent full time, Permanent part time, Temporary full time, Temporary part time (several positions, hrs negotiable)
- Base salary ranging from $79 051 - $ 116 189 per annum or $39.86 - $58.59 per hour
About Us
Social Work services are provided across all clinical directorates of the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service. Social Workers within acute health service streams at Gold Coast University Hospital (GCUH), Robina Hospital and Tugun Satellite Hospital report operationally and professionally to the Director of Social Work and Support Services through the Assistant Directors of Social Work.
