Clinical Nurse (Special Care Nursery)
Provide advanced neonatal nursing care for infants within the Special Care Nursery at our Gold Coast University Hospital facility.
About this role
The Role
An opportunity has become available for several Clinical Nurses (Special Care Nursery) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 14 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Currently be working in or have recent level 4 special care nursery experience or level 5 to 6 neonatal intensive care experience
- Provide teaching to both parents and their families to facilitate learning and enable them to move towards independence
- Have advanced leadership experience with the ability to meet deadlines and perform effectively
- Work in a Team Leader role and operationally manage the shift
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent full time and permanent part time (several positions, 48 -76 hours per fortnight, hours negotiable)
- Base salary ranging from $114,532 - $122,643 per annum or $57.76 - $61.85 per hour
About Us
The Newborn Care Unit (NCU) at Gold Coast University Hospital (GCUH) is part of the division of Emergency and Specialty Services (ESS) in the service line of Women, Newborn and Children's Services (WNCS). It is comprised of a 14-cot Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and a 24-cot Special Care Nursery (SCN). The SCN operates as a Level 4 neonatal service comprised of a High Dependency Unit (HDU) and a Newborn Early Discharge Service (NEDS).
