Assistant In Nursing - Expression of Interest

The Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service Nursing and Midwifery Staffing Unit is looking for Assistants in Nursing to join our team on a temporary basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in various clinical practice areas.

As an Assistant in Nursing, you'll support the Nurse/Midwifery Unit Manager and clinical team in delivering top-quality patient care.

You will:

• Provide support functions within units or other non-clinical units
• Be allocated to clinical areas within their scope of practice
• Possess a high level of adaptability in working in a variety of clinical settings
• Participate in clinical handover
• Liaise with the Registered Nurse regarding specific activities and outcomes

About you:

To be successful in this position you will require:

• While not mandatory, a Certificate III or above (including undergraduate enrolment first year only) in health-related studies would be well regarded
• Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (Chicken Pox), Pertussis (Whooping Cough) and Hepatitis B
• Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
• Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
• Blue card / Working with children check (GCH will cover cost)
• Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)
