We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Staff Specialist, Staff Specialist, or Senior Medical Officer (SMO) to join the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Bundaberg Hospital. Your opportunity:
- This role provides high-quality, evidence-based Obstetrics and Gynaecology care to patients at the Bundaberg Hospital. Care is delivered within the approved Scope of Clinical Practice granted by Wide Bay Hospital and Health Service. The position contributes to multidisciplinary teamwork, clinical leadership, patient safety, education, training, and continuous quality improvement.
- In addition to the key responsibilities listed below, the role of the Senior Medical Officer is to provide such services as may be reasonably directed from time to time by the Professional or Operational Manager.
Opportunity for Private Practice:
The successful candidate may have the opportunity to establish private practice outside of their WBHHS appointment with local private hospitals. The successful candidate may receive assistance and concessions with:
- Use of the local private hospital's sessional rooms to allow establishment of practice and referral pathways
- Assistance with credentialling and administrative support to commence private practice
- Introduction to local GP's, physicians and surgeons to facilitate referral pathways.
