Senior Mental Health Clinician (Multi-Disciplinary)

About the Team

The Service Model for AMYOS encompasses intensive, outreach-based and longer-term community mental health treatment underpinned by reflective practice and a well-connected team. AMYOS teams work with high risk adolescents with severe and complex mental health presentations who have difficulty engaging in clinic-based services, their families and other stakeholders to achieve positive treatment outcomes.

AMYOS teams are part of the integrated continuum of care for adolescents aged 13-18 years requiring mental health treatment in CHQ. AMYOS is a multidisciplinary team, who provide ongoing recovery-oriented assessment and assertive treatment and care through intensive and flexible approaches (such as mobile interventions on an outreach basis in a community or residential setting) to engage young people, their families and other stakeholders.

AMYOS works within a collaborative partnership model with other community service providers, including other health care providers, education, child safety, housing, police, and youth justice services. A range of individual, family, and group-based assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation programs are offered, with the aim to treat mental illness, reduce emotional distress, and promote function within the community.

About the Role

The purpose of this role is to provide clinical expertise and consultancy through advanced clinical leadership relevant to the Assertive Mobile Youth Outreach Service (AMYOS) speciality of Child and Youth Mental Health. The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) provides direct and indirect care as required to young people aged 13-18 years with severe and complex mental health problems and disorders, and their families and carers. The CNC in AMYOS works in collaboration within the multi-disciplinary health care team in the provision of safe quality healthcare through exemplary clinical nursing standards of practice within the AMYOS speciality of Child and Youth Mental Health.
