Associate Clinical Nurse Consultant - Transitions
Jacaranda Place – Queensland Adolescent Extended Treatment Centre (QAETC) is a purpose built 12 bed state-wide extended treatment inpatient unit and co-located day program, governed and operated by CHQ on the grounds of The Prince Charles Hospital, Brisbane. Jacaranda Place delivers safe and responsive mental health care that effectively supports and enhances the mental health and wellbeing of young people aged between 13-18 years of age, with consideration of extending to 21 years of age, based on a young person’s developmental age.

About the Team
The Integrated Child and Youth Mental Health Service (CYMHS) provides complex secondary and tertiary level health care. CYMHS offers specialised mental health services for families with infants, children and young people (birth to 18 years) who experience severe and complex mental health problems, and where their needs cannot be met by other services.
About the Role
Domain 1: Direct comprehensive care/provision of direct care
- Demonstrate advanced level clinical and problem-solving skills; expert planning and coordination skills in the clinical management and provision of person-centred care.
- Build good rapport with patients and effectively prioritise and plan own time to deliver a flexible and holistic person centred care and service within designated timeframes.
Domain 2: Supports of Systems
- Demonstrate an understanding of policies and guidelines in relation to safe quality care
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively manage human, material and financial resources utilising the Business Planning Framework.
Domain 3: Education
- Demonstrate an understanding and application of the Life Long Learning framework to inform practice resulting in a capable, competent and safe healthcare team.
Domain 4: Research
- Demonstrate knowledge and application of an evidence-based practice framework resulting in improved practice outcomes.
Domain 5: Professional Leadership
- Demonstrate application of advanced clinical leadership through effective delegation, communication, problem solving and critical thinking.
- Demonstrate a very high standard of personal and professional behaviour and creates a culture that reinforces personal and professional standards
Clinical/Specialist/Technical Knowledge
- Demonstrate advanced clinical knowledge, skills, and competence in contemporary, recovery orientated child and adolescent mental health nursing practice and theory.
- Demonstrate ability to effectively engage with wide range of stakeholders in the coordination of intake for an inpatient service..
