About this role
About the Team
This role will work in the Queensland Children's Hospital Emergency Department. The Emergency Department (ED) is a fast-paced, critical care unit responsible for providing immediate assessment, stabilisation, and treatment to patients experiencing urgent and life-threatening conditions. The department operates 24/7, handling a wide range of medical emergencies with efficiency and compassion, coordinating closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely patient care and optimal outcomes.
About the Role
The purpose of the Healthcare Ambassador role is to provide respective, non-judgemental, empathetic, supportive, people-focused interactions, and form part of a multidisciplinary team, delivering high quality care to patients.
The Healthcare Ambassador is a non-traditional security role, managed under Hospital and Health Service Security, that provides a patient-focused liaison role within select clinical areas. This role is focused on the proactive engagement of patients and visitors to improve the “customer experience” to prevent and/or reduce aggressive/disruptive behaviour by employing appropriate verbal intervention strategies through people focused, respectful, empathetic and supportive interactions aimed at promoting a safe environment and the provision of high quality patient focused care.
