About this role
Our Purpose:
Queensland's hospital system is facing greater demand and pressure than ever before. This is driven by our growing and ageing population, and compounded by pressures on primary, aged and disability care. To help address this, Health Infrastructure Queensland (HIQ), in partnership with Hospital and Health Services (HHS), is leading the biggest hospital expansion program Queensland has ever seen.
The program includes building three new hospitals, expanding 11, upgrading rural and regional health facilities and delivering thousands of new hospital beds. In addition, the intent is for this to be the first tranche of a 15-year program of infrastructure investments. Working for HIQ, you will forge a new sustainable delivery model and contribute to the delivery of projects that ultimately improve the health and wellbeing of Queenslanders – what could be more rewarding than that?
Benefits for Joining HIQ:
- Attractive and competitive salary with annual incremental increases, generous employer superannuation contributions and leave loading.
- Flexible working arrangements along with a supportive and friendly work environment.
- Corporate discounts and employee wellness programs.
- Countless opportunities to learn and ongoing professional development.
- Committed to providing a diverse and inclusive workplace for all employees.
- You will contribute to making a difference in the lives of Queenslanders.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the development and implementation of category plans and initiatives, based on agreed customer needs and priorities that maximise the value secured from each dollar spent.
- Develop category, product and supplier knowledge databases to inform sub-category strategies. Ensure adequate analysis of customer requirements is undertaken to underpin category strategies and to support effective supplier negotiations.
- Project manage the implementation of planned procurement initiatives, utilising relevant value creation levers such as reduction in scope or standardisation of products.
- Ensure standard procurement processes that comply with Queensland Health governance requirements are adhered to, whilst also identifying any opportunities to improve those processes.
- Identify and socialise potential procurement opportunities and solutions with supplier and customers, working closely with them to support and inform state-wide strategies and priorities.
If you're passionate and ready to take on new challenges, we encourage you to apply!
