Clinical Nurse Consultant - Mental Health Team Leader

About the role

The purpose of this role is to provide advanced clinical expertise and care, while functioning as the Team Leader for the Integrated Mental Health Service within the Mental Health and Policing Programs at the Queensland Forensic Mental Health Service (QFMHS). This includes the Police Communications Centre Mental Health Liaison Service (PCC-MHLS) and The Queensland Fixated Threat Assessment Centre (QFTAC).

Additionally, this role will provide operational and clinical supervision to the multidisciplinary team. At times, it will also include a direct service provision component, also completing shifts within the two services as operationally required.

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

• Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in accordance with Schedule 2, Nurses, and Midwives (Queensland Health Award) (2015) - Generic Level Statements (GLS) Nurse Grade 7 and the Queensland Health and Metro North Health's commitments and values, in achievement of the organisational goals and Domains of Practice.
• Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
• Demonstrate advanced specialist knowledge, experience, and clinical skills in forensic mental health.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and reasoning, advanced problem-solving skills and a comprehensive understanding of operational, organisational, and cultural challenges when implementing evolving service models.
