Clinical Nurse

Metro North Mental Health is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse to join our Older Persons Mental Health Team. This is an exciting opportunity to provide advanced clinical care and professional leadership for older consumers with complex mental health needs within a supportive, multidisciplinary environment.

About the role
In this role, you will deliver high‑quality, consumer‑centred mental health nursing care while supporting and guiding registered nurses and other nursing staff in complex clinical situations. You will apply advanced clinical expertise, critical thinking, and evidence‑based practice to promote recovery‑focused outcomes for older people and their families.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Practice in accordance with code of ethics, professional standards and legislation affecting nursing practice by maintaining current knowledge and competence within scope of position.
- Respond appropriately to and provide support and direction to manage sudden alterations in the health status of the consumer/patient using advanced nursing assessment and intervention skills.
- Provide teaching to both consumers/patients and their families to facilitate learning and enable them to move towards independence.
- Integrate organisational policies and guidelines with professional standards by maintaining current knowledge and participating in relevant policy review.
