An exciting opportunity to join the Perinatal Wellbeing Team within Metro North Mental Health, supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and families who may require mental health and social and emotional wellbeing support before, during and after pregnancy.
About this role
Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community.

About the role
Working as a valued member of a multidisciplinary team, you will provide culturally safe, responsive and person-centred support, including assessment, care coordination, advocacy, intervention and connection with appropriate health and community services.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- High level knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, protocols, and history, as well as demonstrated experience in engaging with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
- Deliver culturally sensitive Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander support services within a large multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated high level of communication and interpersonal skills in the provision of client care and advocacy, including working collaboratively and in partnership with health service providers and other health professionals.
- Demonstrated advanced level social and emotional, and mental health clinical skills appropriate for the delivery of health assessments, screening, interventions and transitional planning.
