Senior Occupational Therapist
Provide advanced occupational therapy services and clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary mental health team, supporting consumers with complex needs through recovery-focused care and evidence-based interventions.
About this role
About the role
Join Metro North Mental Health as a Senior Occupational Therapist within the Acute Care Team at The Prince Charles Hospital. In this advanced clinical role, you will deliver high-quality, evidence-based occupational therapy services to consumers experiencing severe and complex mental health and alcohol and other drug issues. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will provide assessment, formulation, intervention, risk management and recovery-focused care to support positive consumer outcomes.
You will also provide professional leadership and clinical supervision to less experienced Occupational Therapists, contribute to service improvement and quality initiatives, and play a key role in supporting consumers, families and carers through acute episodes of care. This is an excellent opportunity to apply advanced clinical expertise while helping shape and strengthen contemporary mental health services.
About you

- Deliver high-level occupational therapy assessments, case formulation, risk assessments and evidence-based interventions for consumers with complex mental health and alcohol and other drug treatment needs.
- Provide crisis support, ongoing risk management and short-term recovery-focused interventions that promote functional independence, engagement and meaningful participation in daily activities.
- Collaborate effectively with consumers, carers, multidisciplinary team members and external agencies to coordinate comprehensive and individualised care.
- Provide clinical leadership, education and professional supervision to less experienced Occupational Therapists, students and multidisciplinary team members.
- Lead and contribute to quality improvement, service development and research activities that enhance occupational therapy practice and consumer outcomes.
