About the role
As a Senior Staff Specialist or Staff Specialist (Obstetrics & Gynaecology), you'll join a dedicated team providing high quality specialist care across one of Australia's largest and most diverse health service regions. Based at Mount Isa Hospital, the regional birthing hub for North West Queensland, you'll work across a contemporary maternity and gynaecology service supporting approximately 420 births annually and caring for women from rural, remote and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

- Deliver a broad scope of obstetric and gynaecological care, including operative gynaecology, colposcopy, outreach services and maternity care.
- Provide clinical leadership, teaching and supervision to trainees, junior medical staff and multidisciplinary team members.

Competitive remuneration package based on full-time equivalent value up to $679,037 (Paid pro-rata for engagement period or part time employee) comprising:
- Base salary ranges between $8,303.90 and $10,528.40 (L18-L27) (Paid pro-rata for engagement period or part time employee).
- Long Service Leave and Sick Leave accrual.
- 5 weeks annual recreational leave.
- Generous employer contribution to superannuation of 12.75%.
- Attraction and retention incentive allowance of 50% base annual salary.
- Regional and rural attraction allowance of 15% base annual salary.
- Motor vehicle allowance.
- Professional development allowance and leave of 3.6 weeks p.a.
- Inaccessibility allowance.
- Tax savings through salary sacrificing options are also available.

Requirements
- Mandatory requirements are a relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences.
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
- Fellow of Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG).
- C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
- Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks.
- This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
- A period of probation may apply.
