Temporary full time opportunity to develop, implement, maintain and evaluate a system designed to mitigate Metro North's patient handling risk in accordance with relevant legislation, standards and codes of practice and in collaboration with key stakeholders and to ensure staff and care participants are safe during handling.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Provide expert advice and consultation that supports a contemporary approach and safe work procedures that mitigate the risks associated with patient handling in accordance with Workplace Health & Safety legislation, accreditation standards, Australian Standard 4081 and the Manual Handling Code of Practice requirements.
- Analyse risks and incident data, develop recommendations to address issues, and facilitate implementation of recommendations within clinical services across Metro North Health.
- Develop, implement and evaluate decentralized standard systems and processes to provide education and training for all staff within Metro North Health, in regard to patient handling.
