Occupational Therapist - New Graduates

About the role

Start your Occupational Therapy career with Metro North Health, Queensland's largest and most diverse public health service. Through Metro North's 2027 Graduate Occupational Therapy Program, you will have the opportunity to develop your clinical skills across a range of healthcare settings including acute hospitals, rehabilitation services and community-based programs, while receiving structured support from experienced Occupational Therapists and multidisciplinary teams.

With positions available across Caboolture Hospital, The Prince Charles Hospital, Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital, STARS, Brighton Rehabilitation Unit, Community Transition Care Program and Hospital in the Home/GEMITH services, graduates will gain valuable experience delivering evidence-based Occupational Therapy services that support patients to achieve meaningful health, rehabilitation and participation outcomes. Throughout the program, you will be supported through supervision, professional development and mentoring opportunities designed to build confidence and capability in your first year of practice.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

• Deliver evidence-based Occupational Therapy services across a variety of clinical settings, applying professional knowledge, clinical reasoning and emerging independent decision-making skills.
• Build effective relationships with patients, families, carers and multidisciplinary team members to support person-centred care and positive health outcomes.
• Contribute to assessment, treatment planning, intervention and evaluation activities while maintaining accurate clinical documentation and service records.
• Actively participate in supervision, professional development and learning opportunities to support your transition from graduate to independent practitioner.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, service development activities and the ongoing advancement of Occupational Therapy services across Metro North Health.
