Build Your Clinical Expertise in a Busy, Supportive O&G Department
Join Logan Hospital in Meadowbrook as a Principal House Officer in Obstetrics & Gynaecology in a temporary full-time or part-time capacity through to February 2027, gaining hands-on experience across a high-volume, supportive clinical environment.
About this role
Your new role:
As a Principal House Officer (PHO), you will play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care across inpatient and outpatient services within a busy and evolving Obstetrics and Gynaecology department, working under the guidance of experienced consultants. In this role, you will:
- Provide clinical care across Birth Suite, Acute Gynaecology, outpatient clinics and surgical lists
- Assess, diagnose and manage patients, including those referred from Emergency and other units
- Develop and implement management plans in collaboration with consultants and multidisciplinary teams
- Perform procedures in line with your level of training and experience
- Supervise and support junior medical staff and contribute to their development
- Participate in rostered shifts including evenings, weekends and on-call
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure effective communication and handover
- Engage in teaching, audits, research and continuous quality improvement initiatives
About you:
You are a motivated and capable medical practitioner with a passion for women's health and a commitment to delivering safe, high-quality care in a fast-paced environment. You will demonstrate:
- Current registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia
- Experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (minimum 12 months highly regarded)
- Ability to manage a busy birth suite with appropriate supervision
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic and procedural skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients and multidisciplinary teams
- Effective time management, prioritisation and resilience under pressure
- Commitment to continuous learning, education and professional development
- A collaborative, team-focused approach with high standards of professionalism and integrity
