About this role
Your new role:
As a Consultant Sonographer, you will lead and deliver a well-established POCUS training program within the Emergency Department, while providing expert clinical guidance and contributing to service innovation at local, state, and national levels.
In this role, you will:
- Provide consultant-level expertise to support complex clinical decision-making
- Lead clinical governance, quality assurance, and accreditation activities for ED ultrasound
- Support and mentor registrars and consultants through accredited training pathways
- Oversee ultrasound equipment, procurement, and optimisation processes
- Contribute to research, service development, and national POCUS standards
About you:
You are an experienced and highly skilled Sonographer with a passion for education, leadership, and advancing clinical practice. You thrive in a dynamic environment and are confident influencing at both operational and strategic levels.
You will bring:
- Advanced expertise in contemporary ultrasound clinical practice, particularly in POCUS
- Proven experience delivering education and training to clinicians
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to drive service improvement initiatives
- A commitment to research, innovation, and evidence-based practice
- Accredited Medical Sonographer (ASAR) status and relevant postgraduate qualification

Logan Hospital is the major health centre for one of the fastest growing areas in Queensland. We offer a range of services, including medical, rehabilitation, maternity, surgical and paediatric care.
We offer our staff and students extensive support and training in most medical specialties. As a teaching hospital, we help train future health care professionals and participate in research through strong partnerships with Queensland's leading medical schools, universities, and TAFE Queensland.
Our services will continue to grow as we build bigger and better facilities to support the community. By 2027, we'll have more beds and 5 more birthing suites as part of the Logan Hospital expansion.
