Permanent full-time opportunity based at Logan Hospital, Meadowbrook, leading advanced midwifery practice across Birth Suites and the Maternity Assessment Centre within Metro South Health.
About this role
Your new role:
As the Clinical Midwife Consultant, you will provide expert clinical leadership and advanced midwifery care while supporting a high-performing multidisciplinary maternity team by:
- Leading safe, evidence-based and woman-centred care across Birth Suites and Maternity Assessment Centre
- Coordinating clinical operations and supporting workforce capability, education and succession planning
- Managing complex and high-risk maternity presentations with sound clinical judgement
- Driving quality improvement, service redesign and governance initiatives
- Partnering with women, families and care teams to promote informed choice and positive birth outcomes
- Supporting staff through mentoring, coaching, reflective practice and clinical leadership
About you:
You are an experienced and passionate midwifery leader who thrives in a fast-paced maternity environment with:
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Midwife
- Bachelor of Midwifery or equivalent tertiary qualification
- Extensive clinical experience in Birth Suites and/or Maternity Assessment settings
- Proven leadership capability in managing teams, resources and service priorities
- Strong communication, collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills
- Commitment to culturally safe, woman-centred and evidence-based care
- Experience in quality improvement, governance and clinical education initiatives
- Postgraduate qualifications or current enrolment highly regarded

Logan Hospital is the major health centre for one of the fastest growing areas in Queensland. We offer a range of services, including medical, rehabilitation, maternity, surgical and paediatric care.
We offer our staff and students extensive support and training in most medical specialties. As a teaching hospital, we help train future health care professionals and participate in research through strong partnerships with Queensland's leading medical schools, universities, and TAFE Queensland.
Our services will continue to grow as we build bigger and better facilities to support the community. By 2027, we'll have more beds and 5 more birthing suites as part of the Logan Hospital expansion.
