An exceptional executive leadership opportunity is available for an accomplished healthcare leader to join Logan and Beaudesert Health Service as Service Line Director Internal Medicine. This pivotal role offers single-point accountability for delivering safe, high-quality, and sustainable clinical services while shaping the future of care through strategic leadership, service expansion, and system-wide collaboration.
About this role
Your new role:
As Service Line Director Internal Medicine, you will provide executive leadership and strategic direction for one of the health service's largest portfolios. Based at Logan Hospital, with collaborative oversight of services at Beaudesert Hospital, you will be accountable for clinical excellence, operational performance, and financial sustainability. Working in close partnership with the Executive Director and senior leaders to drive innovation, lead major service expansion initiatives, and ensure the delivery of patient-centred, evidence-informed care aligned to organisational priorities. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing expert strategic advice to executive leadership, committees, and clinical streams within the Internal Medicine Service Line
- Driving service planning and expansion, including the Logan Hospital Expansion Program
- Strengthening multidisciplinary engagement and fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability
- Ensuring compliance with national standards, clinical governance requirements, and performance targets
- Promoting innovation, research, and continuous improvement across the service line

You are an experienced executive leader with a strong track record in delivering complex healthcare services at scale. You bring strategic insight, operational excellence, and a deep commitment to patient-centred care, alongside the ability to lead through change and influence at the highest levels. Your skills and experience include:
- Demonstrated expertise in clinical governance, quality, safety, and risk management
- Strong financial acumen, including budget management and service performance optimisation
- Advanced capability in strategic planning, service redesign, and large-scale change implementation
- Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate evidence into practice
- Commitment to equity, cultural capability, and improving outcomes for diverse communities

Logan Hospital:
Logan Hospital is the major health centre for one of the fastest growing areas in Queensland. We offer a range of services, including medical, rehabilitation, maternity, surgical and paediatric care.
We offer our staff and students extensive support and training in most medical specialties. As a teaching hospital, we help train future health care professionals and participate in research through strong partnerships with Queensland's leading medical schools, universities, and TAFE Queensland.
Our services will continue to grow as we build bigger and better facilities to support the community. By 2027, we'll have more beds and 5 more birthing suites as part of the Logan Hospital expansion.
