About this role
Your new role:
As a Clinical Nurse within the Hepatology Ambulatory Service, you will provide advanced clinical expertise, leadership, and coordination in the care of patients with complex liver disease. Working autonomously, you will play a pivotal role in delivering specialist outpatient care, supporting multidisciplinary clinics, and contributing to service improvement, education, and research.
This is a dynamic and highly specialised role where you will help shape high-quality, evidence-based care across a broad and integrated hepatology service.
In this role, you will:
- Deliver advanced, person-centred care for patients with complex liver disease
- Lead clinical decision-making and coordinate care across multidisciplinary teams
- Supervise, support and delegate to nursing and support staff
- Contribute to specialist clinics including Hepatitis C, NAFLD, Fibroscan, HCC surveillance and integrated care models
- Provide clinical leadership in complex and high-acuity situations
- Drive quality improvement, risk management and safety initiatives
About you:
You are an experienced and confident Clinical Nurse with strong hepatology or specialist outpatient experience, ready to step into a leadership role in a complex, fast-paced clinical environment.
You will bring:
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA)
- Advanced clinical knowledge in hepatology, liver disease or related specialty areas
- Strong clinical reasoning, assessment and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to lead, delegate and support multidisciplinary teams
- Experience working in outpatient or ambulatory care settings
- Ability to manage complex patient care and competing priorities

About us:
The Hepatology Ambulatory Service is committed to providing high quality patient centred care to patients with Liver Disease through specialist outpatient clinics and inpatient services. Medical, nursing and allied health integrated sessions are conducted daily with services also provided to the Secure Unit. It has a significant Viral Hepatitis and Non- Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease caseload and liaises closely with the Liver Transplant Team. The service also provides a research site for clinical trials and research through grant and industry support.
