Your new role:
As a Clinical Nurse in Infection Control, you will provide advanced clinical expertise and leadership in the delivery of safe, evidence-based infection prevention and control practices across the service. Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver specialist infection prevention and control care, including assessment, planning, and management of patients with complex needs
- Provide clinical leadership, supporting staff through education, mentoring, and coordination of care delivery
- Lead and contribute to quality improvement initiatives, audits, and risk management activities to ensure compliance with national standards
- Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and multiple sites to optimise infection control practices and patient outcomes
About you:
You are an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse with a passion for infection control and a commitment to excellence in patient care. You will bring:
- Advanced clinical knowledge and experience in infection prevention and control, with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and support teams in a complex healthcare environment
- Proven experience in quality improvement, clinical audits, and implementing evidence-based practice
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across multidisciplinary teams

Unit Profile
Infection Control is a nursing unit within Bayside Health Service, which encompasses Redland Hospital, Health Service Centre, Wynnum-Manly Community Health Centre, Pandanus Ward, Wisteria Unit, Marie-Rose Centre - Dunwich and Redlands Satellite Health Centre. The service is based within Redland Hospital and is part of the Metro South Health wide infection management network.
Infection Control provides a clinical infection prevention and control service to patients, staff and the public from across the Bayside Health Service sites and contributes to the development and implementation of the annual Infection Control Management Plans in accordance with legislative requirements.
