Permanent Full Time / Part Time or Temporary opportunities available for an Advanced Scope Pharmacy Assistant within Logan and Beaudesert Health Service, supporting clinical pharmacy services across multiple Metro South Health sites.
About this role
Your new role:
As an Advanced Scope Pharmacy Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting safe and effective patient care through advanced clinical and operational pharmacy services under the guidance of a pharmacist, by:
- Performing advanced pharmacy assistant duties across the medicines management cycle
- Supporting electronic medication management systems and automated dispensing
- Delivering medications and providing education to patients on medication use and aids
- Assisting with quality improvement activities, procedures and work instruction updates
- Participating in multidisciplinary teams in a non-clinical capacity
- Liaising with healthcare providers including pharmacists, GPs and community services
- Undertaking accuracy checking of medicines in line with professional standards
- Mentoring and supporting less experienced pharmacy assistants and technicians
- Contributing to a strong culture of patient safety, quality and continuous improvement
About you:
You will be an experienced and motivated pharmacy assistant who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment, with:
- Advanced knowledge of pharmacy practice, medical terminology and healthcare systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise across teams
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to and lead quality improvement activities
- High attention to detail and commitment to medication safety and quality standards
- Ability to work effectively under supervision while managing competing priorities
- Proven capability to support, train and mentor team members
- A Certificate IV in Hospital/Health Services Pharmacy Support (or equivalent)
