About this role
Your new Role:
As Nurse Manager within the Executive Director of Nursing and Midwifery (EDNM) Service, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to support workforce planning, recruitment, and governance initiatives across Metro South Health. Working collaboratively with senior stakeholders, you will lead Business Planning Framework (BPF) activities, support centralised recruitment campaigns, and leverage workforce data and informatics systems to guide service planning, benchmarking, and performance improvement. This role is pivotal in embedding governance processes, enhancing workforce capability, and ensuring alignment with organisational priorities to optimise patient and program outcomes.
About You:
You are a strategic and collaborative nursing leader with strong expertise in workforce planning, governance, and data-driven decision-making within complex healthcare environments. You will have:
- Demonstrated ability to lead workforce planning, recruitment, and BPF activities
- Advanced skills in workforce data analysis, benchmarking, and reporting
- Strong knowledge of governance frameworks, policy development, and quality systems
- Proven leadership in driving service improvement, innovation, and change
- Highly developed communication, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving skills

The Executive Director of Nursing and Midwifery Services (EDNM) Service
The EDNM Service is a central, non-clinical function providing system-wide leadership in nursing and midwifery governance, workforce planning, education, research, and informatics across Metro South Health, supporting a population of 1.2 million.
Through its Education and Research, and Professional Capability and Governance streams, it drives workforce sustainability, BPF implementation, and data-informed, high-quality care aligned with organisational priorities.
