Your new role:
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and passionate Senior Social Worker to join the Southern Queensland Centre of Excellence in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care at Metro South Health. You will:
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based Social Work services within a multidisciplinary Allied Health team supporting clients at risk of chronic disease.
- Provide clinical leadership, supervision and support to junior clinicians, students and Allied Health Assistants.
- Contribute to service development, quality improvement and research initiatives to enhance patient care outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with patients, carers, community organisations and healthcare professionals to deliver culturally safe, patient-centred care.
This is an identified vacancy with a genuine occupational requirement for the position to be filled by an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person. About you:
You are a compassionate and culturally capable Social Work professional who thrives in a complex healthcare environment and is committed to improving health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. You have:
- Demonstrated high-level Social Work clinical skills, including assessment, intervention and discharge planning in complex care settings.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven ability to provide supervision, mentoring and clinical guidance to less experienced staff and students.
- A proactive approach to service improvement, evidence-based practice and delivering culturally safe, consumer-focused care.

About the Southern Queensland Centre of Excellence in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care
The Southern Queensland Centre of Excellence in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care is a Queensland Health service for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Located in lnala, 18 km Southwest of Brisbane CBD, our clinic is staffed by GPs, nurses, allied health, and Aboriginal health workers, and visiting medical specialists. We also provide health-related services at a community level, and our research team is dedicated to finding and publishing evidence about how to improve the health of our patients.
