We are seeking a Staff Specialist or Senior Staff Specialist in Acute and General Medicine to join our dedicated multidisciplinary team. About this role
Your new role:
As a Staff Specialist or Senior Staff Specialist - Acute and General Medicine, you will provide expert clinical care while supporting excellence in education, research and service improvement. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, patient-centred care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver high-quality acute and general medicine services, including participation in the on-call roster.
- Provide clinical leadership, supervision and teaching to junior medical officers, medical students and multidisciplinary staff.
- Contribute to the development of clinical protocols, models of care, patient safety initiatives and quality improvement activities.
- Participate in research, audit, service planning and continuous improvement programs that enhance patient outcomes.
About you:
You are a motivated and collaborative physician committed to delivering exceptional patient care and advancing medical practice through education, leadership and innovation.
You will demonstrate:
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) with experience in Acute and General Medicine.
- Strong clinical leadership skills with the ability to supervise, mentor and support junior medical staff.
- A commitment to patient safety, quality improvement, research and evidence-based practice.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.

The Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Hospital (QEII) is a medium metropolitan adult facility providing a range of inpatient and outpatient services including a 24-hour Emergency Department. We provide a range of services, including surgery, cardiology, endoscopy, orthopaedics, gynaecology, urology, geriatric, respiratory and emergency medicine.
We're making our hospital bigger and better to make it easier for our growing community to get the health care they need. We'll have more beds, medical wards and expanded intensive care and emergency services planned to be opened by 2027.
