We are seeking expressions of interest for casual Food Service Officers to join Food Services Operations at Redland Hospital and Redland Satellite Health Centre. As part of our talent pool, you may be offered casual shifts across a variety of work areas supporting patient meals and retail services!
About this role
About your role
As a Food Service Officer, you will support the delivery of safe, high-quality food services to patients, staff and visitors.
This is a casual talent pool — shifts will be offered as they become available over the next 12 months (placement in the pool does not guarantee appointment).
In this role, you will:
- Assist with meal preparation, assembly and distribution to patients
- Support retail outlet operations, including coffee preparation and cash handling
- Maintain food safety, cleanliness and hygiene standards in accordance with legislation
- Receive and store goods appropriately
- Minimise waste and ensure cost-effective use of resources
About you
You are reliable, team-oriented and committed to providing excellent customer service in a healthcare setting.
You will bring:
- Basic knowledge of food safety principles and safe food handling practices
- Previous food handling or hospitality experience (highly desirable)
- Understanding of special diets and texture-modified foods (desirable)
- Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and public holidays

Redland Hospital is the major health centre for adults and children in the Redlands and Brisbane's southern bayside suburbs. We provide a range of services including emergency care, primary health and minor injury care, acute and subacute medicine, general surgery, maternity and paediatric, mental specialist outpatient and mental health care.
