About this role
Your new role:
The Kidney and Transplant Service are looking for a Fellow for the 2027/28 Fellow year. Participate in the provision of the clinical renal transplantation and nephrology service within the Department of Nephrology and Kidney Transplant Service. To participate in clinical research projects within the Department of Nephrology and Kidney Transplant Unit. Participate in the provision of the out of hours on call roster for clinical nephrology services at a registrar/fellow level. This commitment is generally on a 1 in 6 basis. Participate in the training and supervision of registrars, resident medical officers and medical students as set out in the addendum, Registrar's Role as a Clinical Teacher.
About you:
Advanced skills and experience in the medical management of patients with kidney disease and working within the multi-disciplinary team. Demonstrated commitment to education, research and total quality management programs within Nephrology and its related disciplines and demonstrated ability to construct and/or maintain opportunities for same. Applicants are expected to have a sound level of clinical expertise and knowledge in the area of renal transplantation (including the care of renal transplant recipients in the early post-transplant period). Applicants are expected to possess skills in real-time ultrasound-guided renal biopsy, clinical assessment of transplant recipients and living donors and transplant management of renal transplant complications. An impressive track record in clinical and/or basic science research would be an advantage.

The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is a tertiary health care centre providing care in most major adult specialties. We provide world class health care to Brisbane City's southern suburbs across emergency, medical, mental health and surgical services, including liver and kidney transplant.
We are nationally recognised for our expertise in trauma management and organ transplants and are one of Australia's leading academic and research health centres. The PAH as a major medical research precinct hosts Australia's most advanced medical research facility, the Translational Research Institute (TRI) as well as a new Clinical Research Facility for the discoveries made at TRI to be trialed in a safe clinical environment.
We're expanding our hospital to make sure everyone gets the care they need. We're adding more beds, modernising our buildings, and improving our spaces to treat kidney and cancer patients with all new services and facilities planned to open by 2027.
