Registrar/Principal House Officer - Intensive Care Medicine
Temporary full time opportunity to provide high quality Intensive Care services for patients at The Prince Charles Hospital and participates, if requested, in the provision of services in Metro North health service network of Queensland Health.

About the role
The Intensive Care Registrar provides high quality Intensive Care services for patients at The Prince Charles Hospital and participates, if requested, in the provision of services in Metro North health service network of Queensland Health. The Registrar is expected to develop and improve their clinical skills in Intensive Care Medicine with the aim of developing specialist skills in the field of acute medicine. The Registrar is expected to develop an understanding of research methods and techniques and to supervise, teach and assess junior medical staff as required.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Overall management of patients in the Adult Intensive Care Unit under the guidance of the intensive care senior registrar and specialist.
- Implement decisions on patient care which are taken by senior medical staff.
- Formulate plans of management and co-ordinate appropriate consultation with other specialities as well as participation in the rapid response system as per the departmental procedure and policy.
- Selection and arrangement of appropriate investigations.
