Staff Specialist or Senior Staff Specialist - Vascular Surgery

This position for a Vascular Staff Specialist has been created in Metro North Health at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH), Surgical Treatment and Rehabilitation Services (STARS) and The Prince Charles Hospital (TPCH).

About the role
- The successful applicant will participate in an on-call roster at the RBWH and TPCH as well as be available to backfill planned leave.
- A qualification with experience in both vascular and endovascular surgery is essential with preference given to subspecialty training and interests which could enhance the service scope of the Vascular Surgery Department.
- In addition to service delivery, the applicant will be required to participate in the Department's Vascular Surgery outreach consultation services which in future may be extended to other Queensland Health sites in the Metro North Health

- The first accountability is to patients, to provide medical care and service in accordance with the standards of the discipline and the ethics of the profession.
- The Vascular Surgeon is responsible for the economical use of equipment, consumables, and drugs.
- The Vascular Surgeon is accountable to the RBWH, STARS and TPCH to provide services in accordance with the policies of the hospitals.
- The Vascular Surgeon is accountable for optimal development of specialist expertise of trainee(s) and other junior medical staff assigned to the Vascular Surgery Department, including evaluation and feedback on their performance.
