About the role
Looking for flexible work in a healthcare environment where you can make a real difference every day? As a Food Service Officer, you'll help deliver quality nutrition and food services that support patient wellbeing and recovery across Metro North Health. This casual opportunity offers a variety of duties within a supportive team environment, with opportunities to work across different facilities and service areas.
From preparing and serving meals to supporting food safety processes and maintaining clean, hygienic workspaces, you will play an important role in ensuring patients receive safe, nutritious and high-quality food services. This hands-on role is well suited to someone who enjoys working as part of a team, takes pride in delivering excellent service and can adapt to a fast-paced healthcare environment.
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
- Assist with food preparation, presentation, meal service, trolley delivery and collection, dishwashing and other food service activities.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, personal hygiene and service delivery in accordance with legislation, policies and procedures.
- Undertake cleaning and sanitation duties across kitchen areas, ward kitchens, storerooms and equipment to support a safe working environment.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team while managing competing priorities and meeting service deadlines.
- Provide courteous and professional service to patients, visitors and colleagues while contributing to continuous improvement and quality activities.
