About this role
Alongside our Rockhampton mentoring program, you'll also join the Queensland Health Early Career Dental Practitioner Program 💙 — with statewide mentoring, specialist placements in Brisbane and one-on-one guidance from experienced dental specialists.
Final-year dentistry students who are expected to complete their dental qualification in December 2026 and obtain AHPRA Registration by January 2027 are strongly encouraged to apply. Applications from eligible final-year students will be considered and welcomed. 🚀💥

We're a big team with an even bigger footprint, with 11 community dental clinics across Central Queensland — from Rockhampton and Gladstone to Emerald, Biloela, Woorabinda and beyond.
About the role:
- Deliver great dental care. Provide high-quality general dentistry, from examinations, X-rays and treatment planning to restorations, scaling, preventive care and simple extractions.
- Keep learning and growing. Build your clinical skills through professional development, mentoring, case discussions and feedback, with optional opportunities to work under relative analgesia or general anaesthesia depending on your training and experience.
- Take your skills on the road. Based at Rockhampton Community Dental Clinic, you'll also have the opportunity to support clinics and outreach services across CQ — including Yeppoon, Biloela and beyond.
- Be part of something bigger. Work collaboratively to deliver exceptional patient care, promote healthy smiles, meet service targets and KPIs, and contribute to quality improvement, safety and better oral health outcomes.
About you:
- 🎓You're a registered Dentist with AHPRA, hold a current practising certificate and can obtain the required Medicare provider number.
- 🪥 Confident delivering routine general dentistry, including examinations, X-rays, treatment planning, restorations, scaling and simple extractions.
- 💙 You understand public health dentistry, listen to patients, handle concerns with empathy and work to deliver safe, high-quality care every time.
- 🚀Motivated, collaborative and keen to keep learning. You take feedback on board, communicate well and enjoy working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
What we offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $170,573 p.a. is comprised of:
- An hourly rate between $64.47 - $75.39 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
