We're excited to welcome a Peer Worker Lived Experience (Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander, Male) to our Persistent Pain Management Service.

A Peer Worker with Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander background is preferable as this position will be providing support directly in the community to Aboriginal and or Torres Strait Islander people with lived experience of persistent pain as well as other vulnerable groups.

A Peer Support Worker works under direction to facilitate the delivery of supports to consumers of the Sunshine Coast Persistent Pain Management Service (SC PPMS).

Key Responsibilities include:

• Work in collaboration with clinical team members to support all facets of care and support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander consumers in their journey with the SC PPMS.
• Strengthen the quality and continuation of culturally competent care for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander consumers collaboration with NGO's and assist with building their capacity to provide service to consumers with persistent pain.
• Provide individualised, one-to-one peer connection, practical assistance and education, drawing on your own lived/living experience of persistent pain, service-use and self-management and your professional experience as a Peer Worker (if any).
• Build safe, trusting relationships with consumers based on shared lived/living experience and the principles and values of peer support work.

Remuneration value up to $100 585 p.a., comprising salary between $79 272 - $88 158 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (AO3). Applications will remain current for 12 months. Please note: only applications from candidates will be accepted (applications that may result in an agency fee will not be considered).
