About the work unit / facility
The Townsville Hospital and Health Service Allied Health team delivers high-quality, culturally responsive care across the entire health service region including the centrally located Townsville University Hospital as well as Ingham, Ayr, Charters Towers and Palm Island sites.
The First Nations Graduate opportunity is available to First Nations graduates in any of the following professions: Physiotherapy, Pharmacy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology and Nutrition & Dietetics. Depending on the applicant's professional qualification, the role will be based at Townsville University Hospital (Nutrition & Dietetics and Speech Pathology) or at the most suitable of our rural sites (Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Pharmacy, Speech Pathology, Nutrition & Dietetics).
The successful applicant will be a part of the 2026 First Nations Graduate pathway and undertake training and development through the Indigenous Allied Health Australia Leadership Program under the guidance of a cultural mentor with work time dedicated to this. Competitive salary and benefits
- Salary between $3030-00 – $4453.50 per fortnight (HP3).
- 4 to 6 weeks p.a. recreational leave with 14-17.5% loading.
- Generous employer contribution to superannuation of 12.75%.

Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification and registration with AHPRA or professional association.
- Identification as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander (identified position).
- NDIS Worker Screening Check and Blue Card (working with children check).
- Evidence of vaccination against VPDs as per Queensland Health policy.
- Ability to work across THHS sites and contribute to weekend/on-call services.
- A probationary period may apply.
