You’ll ensure delivery of safe and nutritious food while adhering to Queensland Health guidelines, policies and procedures. As a Food Safety Supervisor, oversee the day to day implementation of food safety in the workplace and apply and monitor food safety requirements.

What you'll be doing
- Fulfil the accountabilities of this role in accordance with Queensland Health's core values, as outlined above.
- Ensure ordering, food preparation, cooking production, presentation methods and distribution services are in accordance with the food safety program.
- Prepare meals for special dietary requirements
- Rotate stock and monitor the quality of stock received
What we're looking for
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- An understanding and appreciation of the need for client/patient and facility confidentiality and privacy to be observed at all times.
- Ability to problem solve and use initiative, work with minimum of supervision, communicate and work cooperatively with other members of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Good communication skills in relation to other staff, clients, and visitors.
- Ability to acquire knowledge of hygiene standards, infection control practises, food safety standards, workplace health and safety, total quality management, equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination practises and behaviour as applied in the working environment.
Mandatory Requirements
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
- Possession of an Accredited Food Safety Supervisor qualification. It is a requirement of this position that the qualification must be obtained within three (3) months of commencement in the position if not already held.
